What Can Be Done For Acne And Red Spots On Forehead?

Hi I am a 16 year old teenage girl and have been having a horrible experience with acne. I started using proactiv to try and get rid of my formerly mild acne, and it seemed to be working but was inconsistent and just recently i have been experiencing deep red spots all over my forehead that hurt terribly. I have tried many acne products but nothing seems to be working. What should I do?

Dermatologist 's  Response

Hi,

I can understand your concern for the pimples and red spots in yourself. Acne or pimples are youth related problem and is not a disease per say.

You can apply a cream contains Clindamycin gel 1% and adapalene for topical application form. For clindamycin there is no harm in using it but adapalene can cause irritation if not used under dermatological supervision. It contains topical antibiotic gel and oral antibiotic and do not cause any side effects.

Lightening agents such as Kojic acid or azelaic acid or Hydroquinone cream application which you can use under dermatological guidance. The most important part in treatment is by sun protection by all measures. Eat healthy diet containing lot of Vitamin A and Vitamin C.
Take a proper guidance and follow up with a good dermatologist so that all the problem of acne can be dealt best for future time.

Take care
