What Can Be Done For Painful Throat And Dry, Sticky Mouth After Taking Nystatin?

Had A tonseloctomy, developed thrash due to antibiotics. Placed on nystatin & now on day 4. Problem I am having is nystatin is causing dry sticky mouth. At night it s so sticky that mouth dries up & sticks that it s as if I leaked a skii lift pole with toungue whiles skiing at the top of rocky mountains. It s so painful that I am afraid to sleep. Last time I slept I woke up feeling like someone had placed crushed or broken glass chips in my mouth causing me to bleed. I feel like putting vasceline oil in my my mouth when I go to bed next time. Please Help me figure out what to do.

Hello,
There can be side effects of Nystatin like nausea and feeling of vomiting.
But as you are mentioning that you are feeling dryness of mouth as such this does not appear but yes there can be itching and irritation feeling in the tongue.
You should visit your doctor who has prescribed you the medications to get it changed so that you can get relieved from the symptoms.
Hope it will help you.
