What Can Be Done To Increase Movement And Decrease Pain Medicines Successfully In A 5 Days Old Hysterectomy Patient?

Hello, i am 5 days post op abdomenal hysterectomy and my surgeon is encouraging reduction of percocet use. Interspersing with ibuprofen doesnt seem to touch the pain; it is hardto both increase movement and decrease pain meds successfully. Suggestions? Thanks.

Hello ma'am and welcome.

Well of course you have undegone a serious surgery anf recovery time is quite long for such a procedure. But I would encourage you to be strong and try your best to move around more, depending on the pain medication will only make you take things for granted. There will be quite some pain which you will have to tolerate, but only for a short period of time and the more you move around, the quicker this pain will reduce.

It is best to come off percocet at the earliest. Hope this helps.
