What Can Cause Abdomen Pain After Treating Gas With Baking Soda?

I was experiencing really bad gas pains today and I took some baking soda. Then when the gas was coming up it was hurting really bad and I was pushing on it pretty hard, cause that helped to ease the pain now where I was pushing on the left side about abdomen level it is really tender to the touch and a little red (but I think that was from my fingernails) could I have bruised my stomach muscle or should I go get checked out? It only hurts when u touch it?

Hello,

There are different components of pain as internal pain from underlying stomach upset
external pain from finger manipulation with pressure.

Primary care with external ice application, proton pump inhibitor on OTC (Over-the-counter) basis and diet care gives best results; consult later your doctor if required.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel
