Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Can Cause Pain In A Scar Tissue Inspite Of A Normal CT Scan Report?
I am having surgery in the morning for diagnosis of which appears to be scar tissue and/or adhesions. My concern is I have pain with this and have read that pain is not part of these two issues. I have had a ct scan, upper/lower colonopscopy with all vital organs being in good shape.
Scar tissue or adhesion can lead to pain in the abdomen due to compression of intestines. Surgery will remove the scar tissue or adhesion which will lead to pain relief.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Shailja Puri, Pathologist and Microbiologist
