What Can Cause Rashes In Arms, Legs And Groin In Child?

Took my daughter to the ER and they could not diagnose the itchy rash on her arms legs and groin. Gave her penicillin and prescribed prednisone. She is already over weght so I am fearful of giving her prednisone for 5 days. They did not know what the rash was. She has a sore throat but it is not red and she has no fever.
