What Can Cause Redness Of Throat?

I am an 18 year old female, 5 4 and 168lbs with insomnia, adhd, and depression. I’ve had a sore throat/stuffy nose for about four days and those symptoms seem to have gone away, but now my throat isn’t exactly sore, its more itchy and dry and I can barely speak. Should I be worried that my throat is very getred with plenty of extremely bright red veins visible? How can I over this, the fastest?

Cardiologist 's  Response
Hello,

Your symptoms are suggestive of a throat infection. We can not determine if this is a viral or bacterial infection. For this reason, I would recommend consulting with your attending physician for a physical exam and a throat discharge bacterial culture for possible bacterial infection.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Ilir Sharka, Cardiologist
