Hello,
As she had undergone TKR I would recommend that she has to undergo
physiotherapy till she receives a good strength of the muscles.
In case if she fails to do then it will be difficult for her to walk and also this TKR done will become waste.
Start exercising with basic ones, static Quadriceps and static
hamstring. active or active assisted SLR. Active knee bending.
This is some basic ones which she has to do. Also, the knee range of motion of 100-120 should be good for functional needs.
In my clinical practice of over 12 years, most patients receive physiotherapy as soon as after the operation and most of them achieved an expected recovery.
I will request to start physiotherapy as soon as possible to avoid the drawbacks of not doing.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
