What Can Having Dark Period After Finishing Light Period Mean?

Hi, I was a week late on my period ( which are usually right on time , 28 day cycle ) , well I started and it was very light pink and somewhat light brownish color , it stopped for a few days and returned today with dark heavy blood and huge clots . I dont know what this means ??? please help , thanks

The light period followed by a dark colored heavy bleeding can be due to a hormonal imbalance. If this has happened for the first time then there is no need to worry. This does not need a treatment.
