Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Can I Do To Help The Healing Process And Lessen The Pain After Having Frostbite?
My 11 year son went out yesterday in the cold with out gloves on and his hands fingers got extremely cold (with wind chill -20 s). He then went and warmed them up at my sister-in-laws house by the corn burner. Now he is complaining of pain in his fingers. I believe he had a slight frostbite and most likely made it worse with the extreme heating. My question is what can I do now to help the healing process and lessen the pain?
HI Thank for asking to HCM I really appreciate your concern and looking to the history given here I could say that this is not the frostbite and just forget about this, and the pain that the child has, the pain may be nonspecific and this can be minimize once it is confirmed that this is the really pain episode then this need to be treat with syrup Ibuprofen, and in my opinion better to have a opinion form pediatrician, have a nice day.
