What Cause Migraine Head Ache With Vomiting And Its Treatment?
hi, lately ive been suffering from severe headaches which im told are migraines because I get nausea and feel like vomiting, the light bothers me and I can barely stay on foot, without feeling like im going to fall over. it feels horrible and one of my friends was reading about it and told me that my birth control could be causing this, the dr gave me anti depressants but it seems like they are not working because im getting the migraines more often and they last more than a day, the last one lasting four days in a row. I need help, what should I do? thanks for your help.
Hello ! I read your question and understand your concern. Regarding your headaches I think that they match with the diagnosis of migraine. Oral contraceptives are known to exacerbate migraine attacks. But also having migraine and taking oral pills doubles the risk of brain stroke. I would recommend to stop taking oral contraceptives and change into another option of contraception ( perhaps intrauterine dis positives) if contraception is really necessary. If the antidepressant is not working it may be because you are still taking oral pills or because your in your case the headache is resistent to the drug. I would recommend to try to stop pills first and see the real effect of the antidepressant. Another option would be to stop the antidepressant and switch into Topiramate. It is a really effective drug in migraine and does not cause gain in weight. Hope to have been helpful! Greetings, Dr. Abaz Quka
