What Causes Arias-Stella Reaction And Deciduitis During Pregnancy?
Hi. I had a miscarriage in June, and a D&C was carried out. It was very early in the pregnancy but I cannot say exactly how far along I was. The pathology report indicated that I had Arias Stella reaction and deciduitis. Can you explain to me what this means?
Hi. Arias Stella reaction is nothing to worry about. It's a cellular change or change in the cells that normally occurs in pregnancy or miscarriage or during hormonal treatment. This change is reported as Arias Stella reaction. Regarding deciduitis, it means inflammation of the decidual tissue that is the tissue that you see in the products of conception. This inflammation is usually a response to the aborted products or sometimes due to infections within the uterine lining. Should you require more information please post your queries here. Best regards
