Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My son passed out after getting his cast removed from his arm. He had a fractured growth plate in the wrist. He was in 1 cast for 2 weeks and then 1 cast for a week. He got up to wash his hands and arm, as he was throwing the paper towel away he started to feel funny. He sat down and that s when he passed out. What caused him to pass out?
Hello and welcome to HCM, There is probably no relation between removal of cast from arm and vomiting. The cast is placed to allow immobilization of the arm for fracture healing. After application of cast, the hands or feet are observed for development of any symptom like bluish discoloration of nails, absence of pulse etc. If no such symptom develops, the cast can be safely continued. Vomiting can occur due to reasons which are un-associated with cast application.
Thanks and take care Dr Shailja Puri
