General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Wrist is vital joint comprises 8 bones, nerves, arteries, veins, muscles, tendon, ligament, joint cartilage and soft tissues. Injury to any of these structures hurt you much and restrict your activities. Common injuries are traumatic fractures, dislocations, soft tissue injuries, ligament tear, infection, etc. X- ray of the joint helps to find out any bone fractures. Management is mainly depends on the etiology. Over the counter analgesics such as paracetamol, ibuprofen alleviate the pain. Consult orthopedician for quick relief. Bone involvement may take four to eight weeks to cure which is based on the treatment.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
