What Causes A Grainy Red Spot On The Arm?

Hey, is it okay if I post a link to a picture? It s a picture of a grainy red spot on my upper arm. It doesn t look too bad, but, I just don t want to ignore it. Just in case it s something serious. I don t know where it came from. I just noticed it when I was going to bed. I thought it was a rash at first, but, it s not really itchy

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of grainy red spots on arm which could be due to blockage of sebaceous glands as these areas have rich number of sebaceous glands. It could be due to contact dermatitis and hair follicle infection by bacteria leading to folliculitis. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to visit dermatologist once and get it examined and start treatment after proper prescription. If symptoms keeps on persisting you should go for patch test as well. You should wear loose clothes. You should avoid sharing clothes. Apply topical antibiotic cream such as neosporin 2% on it. take a course of antibiotic tablet. You should rinse the area with mild antiseptic solution like Savlon twice a day. Take a course of Amoxicillin with Clavulanic acid twice a day for 5 days.
