What Causes A Hard Lump At The Site Of Bruise From An Injury?

My fiance hit his leg/ankle area really hard with the blunt end of an ax. The bruise is now gone and it s been a few weeks. The knot is still there. It is very hard when you press on it and doesn t hurt anymore. What causes this hard knot? Well it go away?

Dear Madam,sorry to know that your fiance has met with an accident.impact to ankle has caused tissue injury in that area.coming to your question,due to effect of injury fluids and pus have accumulated in the tissue causing the hard knot. but with times the tissue will be healed and fluid will be absorbed causing the knot go away.I hope your fiance will be cured in coming days.my best wishes.thank you.
