What Causes A Headache After A Neck Sprain?

I have a herniated disc C-5-6 ( from MVA) almost a year ago. Today, I reached above my head w/ my right arm; my neck made the snap/pop noise. Immediate pain, headache, nausea ( which minimized); however, Since I have noticed, the crown of my scalp ( the area of a baby s soft spot ) is now much warmer to the touch, then the surrounding scalp. And I still have the headache... do I need follow-up ASAP?

Hello,

Yes, cervical spondylosis or disc prolapse may cause nerve root compression and radiculopathy. Which may lead to neck muscle spasm or shooting pain around the neck and scalp. Take rest, use pain killers with muscle relaxant medicine. Use physical therapy if symptoms not improved please consult your neurosurgeon he will examine and treat you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
