What Causes A Large Bruise And Swelling In The Legs After An Injury?

Hi, I have been in a car accident 1 year ago. Airbags deployed on the passenger side and hit my legs, shins were bruised, scratched, lacerated. 1 year passed I still have swelling in legs after walking/standing and I still have a huge bruise on the left shin. How can I get better? Any sort of treatment possible?

Hello and welcome to HCM,
Bruising and swelling are common after any trauma.
The bruising and swelling usually clear away after a couple of days.
However, it is abnormal for the bruising and swelling to persist after one of injury.
I suggest you to consult your physician for clinical assessment of the site of lesion because I think there is some other cause for these symptoms.

Thanks and take care
