What Causes A Large Lump On The Foot With Chronic Pain?

Hi, I have very extreme foot pain in my left foot. Ive been told that it s arthritis but I believe it more than just that I have a large bump that has grown on the top of my foot and the pain radiates in that area and around my ankle and a bit to my toes. I am over weight so I know that doesn t help the situation but this started before I gain so much weight. I can t walk very long and I fill like I have lost the mobility in my foot. It s always very stiff even more so in the morning. A nutritionist told me that I have very bad thyroid issues. Ive also been told I have hashimoto thyroid. Ive had my gallbladder removed and some say a lot of my issues stem from that, such as always very bloated and gassy aches and pains irregular bowel movements sometimes 3-5 days between them. I m not a big eater I do eat pretty healthy but I love seasalt popcorns and green tea hot green tea I make my self I use honey and 90 percent of the time in my food/drinks. and I m a cooker I like to cook my own meals I might fry something once or twice a year, really. I disgusted with myself because nothing I do has helped me. Please let me know what you think of this situation.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

Bump on foot with underlying arthritis indicates possible bursa cyst formation most likely. Kindly get a soft tissue ultrasound for the evaluation of the lump and get treatment accordingly which usually consists of surgery and biopsy.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
