What Causes A Large Tender Bump On Wrist And Right Arm?
Hello and good evening, i have a question in regards to an odd bump that i noticed while at work today (its not the first time ive had it it comes and goes) its about two fingers width down from my wrist and roughly the size of a quarter on the ulna side of my right arm. its tender to the touch and my hand all the way back to my elbow feels stiff and sore. i currently work at a factory doing a rather monotonous job with my hands and was wondering if you knew what this could be and if it could be work related?
You need to consult a general surgeon regarding the swelling as what it suggests of could be a ganglioncyst (harmless yet painful). The surgeon shall perform an examination and investigations like X-ray, ultrasonography and since it is accompanied with pain they shall drain the fluid or try to excise the swelling. Don't worry you will be fine.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Riyanka Chail, General & Family Physician
