What Causes A Lump In The Crease Of The Elbow With Radiating Pain From Arm To Neck?
I have swelling in the crease of my left elbow about the size of a golf ball. The doc thought it was golfer s elbow so I tried a brace for 5 months. Swelling was still there. I had an emg/nerve conduction test done recently and my ulnar nerve is not functioning at full capacity. The pain moves mostly up my arm into my shoulder and neck. Occasionally my little finger and ring finger tingle. Any ideas?
Hello. Welcome to HCM. This is Dr. Swarnava Dattagupta answering your query.
See, your symptoms are consistent with ulnar nerve damage or palsy and the same has been found on EMG also. The tingling in medial fingers, pain in arm and shoulders going towards neck all are features of ulnar nerve involvement. Probably it is compressed between some structures high up in the shoulder or neck. The specific treatment is nerve decompression and physiotherapy. I would suggest you to visit a neurologist for examination, some investigations and definite treatment.
Hope this was helpful. Regards
