What Causes A Lump Weeping Yellowish Fluid On Road Rash Wound?

I had a scrape and road rash on my knee, I let it scab over instead of picking at it, when I did pull off the scab in came off in fiber like layers, the skin underneath was red but the pharmacist said it just looked dry. I ve been putting a triple antibiotic ointment on the skin, recently I found a lump filled with liquid, after pressing it it popped and a mostly clear slightly yellow liquid came out and a little bit of blood. I ve had another scar that had liquid before but I don t remember it being red or having that issue with the scab. Is this something I need to worry about?

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain your injury site is infected and there is formation of abscess that is pus filled lumps and needs an antibiotic treatment for resolution..
You should consult a physician and get evaluated and he can advise you to take oral antibiotics like Ciprofloxacin along with topical application, if required he can do incision and drainage of the bumps for faster recovery.
An anti-inflammatory painkiller like Ibuprofen can also be advised to relieve pain and inflammation..
You should also prevent water exposure to the area..
A Tetanus Toxoid injection is also advisable as you have a road rash injury..
