What Causes A Mass Under Arm Pit And Lump On Neck?

Our lady boss had a double mastectomy with lymph node removal and chemo 13 years ago. She discovered a mass under her armpit and had had a lump on her neck for a few weeks so she went for a CT scan last week which apparently came out clear. She is scheduled for an MRI this afternoon. Why would they do both scans?

Both scans provide different details and let me also tell you that both are not completely accurate to completely rule out a metastases.
