I have a mucus cyst inmy mouth bigger than a pea. Ivehad it for 3 weeks. After 2 weeks it popped on its own and shrunk a lot theni bite it accidently and it came back. I have a doctors appointment tomorrow. Whille they pop it hopefully? Its so big i cannot even eat anymore or talk normallywithout my teethhitting it
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..
As per your complain it seems that you have a Mucocele that is a mucous cyst formed due to traumatic injury to the mucosa inside the mouth and it leads to rupture of the duct of the gland leading to accumulation of the mucous into the soft tissues leading to formation of a fluid filled lump..
If it is considerably large then it will continuously come in between teeth and can cause pain as well as difficulty in speech..
Consult an Oral Surgeon and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation can help in diagnosis and if the mucocele is considerably large then surgical excision is advisable..
As of now do concentrated salt water rinses as it will help in regression of the cyst..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora..
