Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have been having issues with my right testicle. I have had ultra sounds done and they come back with it is a cyst. Maybe they called it an epididymus(?). At this point I am concerned as I have a constant light pain and the testicle feels like there is a cord wrapped around it. Sort of like a peanut instead of egg shaped. I find it hard to believe that this is still going on this long and is not some indication something else is going on. Any thoughts?
Hi, Thanks for posting in HCM. I understand your concern. Painful cystic swelling what you have on the testicle could be infected epididymal cyst. It needs to be confirmed by clinical examination. Most of the times, it can be managed conservatively by taking appropriate course of antibiotics and analgesic medications. However, if the response to medication is poor, the cyst needs to be explored and drained by means of a surgical procedure. Kindly consult Surgeon promptly in this regard for appropriate evaluation and further management. Hope the information provided would be helpful. All the best. Regards, Dr.Ashakiran.S. MBBS., MD.
