What Causes A Painful Knot On Arm After Drawing Blood?

i got my blood drawn on my arms and as soon as he pricked me it was painful. i have a lump where the injection was made and can not extand my arm. i went to Phlebotomy school but do not remember what to do. its not a huge bruise but there is a big knot right at the site and painful through arm.

The needle would have likely causes injury to the surrounding tissues during the blood taking process.

Applying a warm compress to the area may help to reduce the swelling and pain.

The use of anti inflammatory pain killers would also help eg ibuprofen, naproxen, cataflam

The bruise should decrease slowly over the next few days.
