Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes A Pink Spot On Breast Near The Areola?
I have a light pink spot on my breast connected to my areola it is about 2 inches long and 1/2 in high. I do not feel any bumps but I am about to menstruate so there is breast tenderness. Should I wait until after my menstrual cycle to contact my Dr?
Since you have a pink spot on the breast near the areola, you are suggested not to scratch & get clinically examined by a gynecologist or GP. Red or pink spot on the breast is often an indication of IBC, Inflammatory breast cancer.
On clinical examination, a mass may be present under the areola. You are suggested to get breast examination, mammogram, MRI, biopsy , etc done to get confirmed. If it is not IBC, you will be treated accordingly. If IBC is detected you should get treated at the earliest.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
