What Causes A Swollen Lymph Node On The Back Of My Neck?
I have noticed swelling in a lymph node, or what I believe is a lymph node, on the back of my neck. I am a 22 year old female. I know lymph fights infections. Could this have anything to do with cutting my hand doing dishes about a week ago? Is it something to be concerned about?

What Causes A Swollen Lymph Node On The Back Of My Neck?
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic As you correctly stated, lymph nodes are involved in fighting infections. Lymph nodes, themselves can also become inflamed or infected. Lymph nodes respond to inflammation in particular areas. The lymph node in the neck would not respond to any inflammation or infection in the hand. It would react to any issues in the head or neck. Normally lymph nodes decrease in size in 4 to 6 weeks. You can consider monitoring it to see if there are any changes. If it is very painful or you remain concerned, you should visit your doctor for assessment. I hope this helps
