What Causes Abdominal Bloating And Cramps While On Nexplanon?
on the nexplanon birth control and im constantly bloated and a little crampy and I do not have a period I spotted for about 6 months and now it has stopped & it has just turned into discharge but I do have unprotected sex with my husband and every time I do I bleed & I only bleed during sex. Is it normal?
Abdominal bloating and cramps can occur commonly due to Nexplanon especially in the starting 3 months of its use. Your body needs time to adjust to the newer hormone levels. These symptoms will subside in the subsequent days. Irregular bleeding can be a side effect of the drug but bleeding during sex may not be caused by Nexplanon.
Vaginal dryness, vaginal infections or inflammation, any abnormal growths should also be ruled out. Implants can itself cause vaginal infections by altering the vaginal ph. I would suggest you to take a vaginal smear to rule out any infections. Vaginal dryness or abnormal growth should also be identified and treated to relieve your symptoms.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
