What Causes Abdominal Bloating And Swelling In Ankles And Feet In An Alcoholic?
sorry cannot afford your service my daughter has swollen belly and swollen ankles/feet and is a recovering alcoholic what to do next I absolutely could not locate or afford a rehab which she needs She wants to be done we have been to er twice with seizures a month ago now this
Since your daughter has history of being alcoholic, it can be alcohol related liver disease that is causing liver dysfunction due to which symptoms of bloating & water retention is there. You are suggested to get your daughter clinically examined by a GP, get blood & imaging tests done to detect the factor causing discomfort.
Cut on salt intake to reduce water retention & edema. Cut on alcohol intake. Other medical conditions that can cause similar problems are IBS, thyroid issues, chronic venous insufficiency, heart problems or kidney disease. She can take antacid & PPI's for relieve. Cut on spicy, oily food. Let her take home made food cooked in olive oil for a couple of days till she'll be treated. Her treatment will depend on the reports obtained & clinical condition.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K, General & Family Physician
