What Causes Abdominal Cramps And Twinges Along With Bloating?
hi i keep having these very bad twinges n cramps and my stomach is very bloated n i keep being sick,i have been diagnosed with a hiutius hernia and twisted bowel n soon be seeing a specialist but if i stretch these twinges n cramps happen n its scarring me cos its very painfull
Hi. Thanks for your query. Noted the history and understood the concerns. Twinges and cramps in the abdomen along with bloating can be due to intestinal obstruction as you have mentioned about twisted bowel. I hope you have been investigated by CT scan and/or barium studies. Hiatus hernia usually causes symptoms like GERD which if you have not mentioned may not be significant then. Stretching increasing the symptoms of twinges and cramps may indicate about ruling out the cause like MRI changes in the spine. The investigations of blood, stool and urine add-on the evidence to find the proper diagnosis. I would advise you the following: Get started with a PPI like Omeprazole, antacid and domperidone to reduce the symptoms of GERD/ Hiatus hernia. If the twisting is not amenable to medical management you may need surgery to correction of obstruction.
