What Causes Abdominal Distention After A Hernia Repair Surgery?
my dad is in his 80 s.he had a hernia repair done outpatient about a month ago.he is also a diabetic.today his stomach is distended he feels bloated and full.he told me something doesn t feel right.he rarely tells me when something is wrong with him .his stomach is double its normal size.he said he hasn t urinated all day.what can I do?he wont let me take him to E.R or doctor.
Hi Thanks for positng your query on HCM I have read and understood your concern. I wish to find out the type of hernia(umbilical, inguinal...) repair he had, does he pass out stool normally, any adominal pains? He will need to be examined by the Doctor as only a complete medical examination by the Doctor may help to identify the cause of his problem.Possible causes may include: -Constipation -Irritable bowel syndrome -Intestinal obstruction -And others Only a keen examination by the Doctor may help.Tests that may also help include: plane abdominal film, abdominal ultrasound and others. I will suggest you just try and convince him to see the Doctor before it gets more serious. Hope this will help. You may write back if more concerns. Best regards
