What Causes Abdominal Pain And Cramps After Undergoing D&C?
I had a DnC with polyp biopsy done last Tuesday (6 days ago). I had no significant pain for the first 4 days. Then about 24 hours ago I began to have severe cramps. Between an 8 and 10 on that pain scale. I've been taking Naproxen 550mg every 4-6 hours as directed by my postop orders. I added Extra Strength Tylenol 1000mg 16 hours ago. I tried to sleep but was woken up several times last night with excrutiating cramps. Now the pain is constant with intermittant cramps at varying intervals. I'm in pain! The doctor said the procedure might stop the heavy bleeding and the pain. Well my bleeding is minimal, but the pain is bad. I also am having a weird pain in the anus that I've experienced a few times before... but this is bad...it's never lasted this long before. I'm going to call my doctor at 9 when they open...but the doc who performed the surgery is out of town... any advice would be appreciated. I just want to know if this is in any way normal after a DnC.
