Hi,
Cortisone belongs to the group of medications known as steroids or
corticosteroids that is used in the treatment of various inflammatory conditions like arthritis,
osteoarthritis, asthma, COPD, allergies, lupus,
psoriasis, certain cancers etc. But like other medications this medication has some side effects of its own. It may cause serious symptoms of allergic reactions.
Someone may experience redness and a feeling of warmth or tightness of the chest and face, trouble breathing, rapid heartbeat, abdominal distension, belly pain, itching, rashes, any swelling of the hands, feet, lips, tongue, mouth or face, wheezing etc., after a Cortisone shot. If someone experiences these side effects after getting Cortisone shot, then he or she should stop using this medication immediately and inform his or her doctor promptly for
medical help.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
