What Causes Abdominal Pain, Bloating, Weight Loss And Rib Cage Pain?

I eat a small amount of food and within 10 minutes I have pain in the abdominal area around belly button and I feel bloated. I do have a EGD and colonoscopy scheduled. I have lost about 27 lbs in 2 months. Sometimes pain left side under rib cage that eventually moves to back area. Any suggestions?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

It is very good you have already been scheduled for EGD and colonoscopy as any sudden and unexplained weight loss should lead to proper examinations. In your case, because you have abdominal pain and other gastrointestinal symptoms with weight loss, EGD and colonoscopy are necessary to rule out a peptic ulcer or any tumors that may cause such symptoms.

I hope this answers your query. I remain at your disposal in case further medical assistance is needed.

Regards,
Dr. Antoneta Zotaj, General and Family Physician
