What Causes Abdominal Pain, Constipation And Diarrhea?

Hi, my boyfriend has been suffering from abdominal cramps, sickness sometimes constipation and some times diarrhoea along with a suppressed appetite for around a year now. These symptoms mainly occur during the early hours and when he wakes up. He also gets hot and cold flushes. He has seen 3 doctors who have done blood tests which have found nothing. He does not eat any vegetables. What could this be? What blood tests should he ask to be done?

altered bowel habits and tests normal likely go towards the irritable bowel syndrome. it can be due to stress. but he needs further investigation before labelling him IBS. colonoscopy will be done if symptoms are severe not responding to any treatment .
