What Causes Abdominal Pain On The Left Side After A Hernia Repair Surgery?
I am one week postop laposcopic incisional hernia repair. I have had normal post o.o pain until Thursday. I woke up with terrible pain on left side. It s hard to even lay down and sitting and getting up are unbearable..i thought I might be constipated so I m using stool soft are but for the past two days when i have had a BM it is black tarry and pasty. It also hots so fast I can t make it to the bathroom. I m worried I knew it would hurt I expected pain. My surgeon just said take ibuprofen. But this is so different it feels like someone it ripping me open from the inside.
Dear friend. .I have gone through your question.. Pain in post operative period is normal. But you have mentioned change in character of pain and presence of tarry stools. There can be some bowel injury which needs to be investigated. It would have been useful if you have mentioned whether there is any abdominal distension, any particular site where pain is maximum, associated fever present or not. Kindly go to your surgeon and get yourself physically examined. An ultrasound abdomen and complete blood counts will give a clear picture. Thank you
