He is now having red blood in his stools, and gums bleed ( not much) He is also having abdominal pain in the left mddle area of his stomach. No he has not been to the docter in over a month.
Blood in the stools may be due to fissure or fistulas or hemorrhoids. Other possibilities are:
1. Alcoholic Liver Disease with hemorrhoids 2. Alcoholic liver disease with esophageal varices 3. Antiplatelet induced thrombocytopenia 4. Peptic ulcer disease 5. Liver cell failure with clotting factors deficiency 6. Rectal malignancy et cetera
Until the examination done, it is difficult to say what it is. Avoid spicy food, alcohol, smoking and drinking. Use soft diet for to eat and if symptoms not improved, please consult your physician, he/she will examine and treat you accordingly.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Penchila Prasad Kandikattu
