What Causes Abdominal Spasms And Excessive Flatulence?
After eating, I experience spasms and sensations of gas bubbles in my stomach and or intestinal track. I also have excessive flatulence. My GI specialist has run tests and taken stool samples. All appear normal. Certain foods appear to make the reaction worse- like chocolate and lettuce. While experiencing IBS for many years, these current symptoms developed after an infection I had in early January during which I took the antibiotic Levaquin. I currently take a probiotic. Is this something that should concern me?

I can understand your concern. As you have IBS from many years and now you have flatulence along with spasms the cause maybe infection or colitis. I will suggest you to do ultrasound abdomen and pelvis. You may require antibiotics like tablet Norflox TZ, tab. Dicyclomine, tab. Diapepsin P after consultation. You can continue probiotics.
