What Causes Abdominal Swelling Along With Hematuria After Inserting JJ Stent?

I had a JJ stent fitted about 7 weeks ago since then I have experienced severe pain and over the last week or so every time I begin to walk and stand for lengths of time my abdomen swells and there is blood in my urine. Could it be related to the stent?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

* As per my clinical experience, the swelling in abdomen & blood in urine are primarily due to stent induced urinary infection or others. I request to get urine microscopy and x-ray KUB for best evaluation and management guidelines.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
