What Causes Abnormal ECG And Elevated Blood Pressure?

Hello Doctor, Last-week my Dad tested ECG of him and found result as Abnormal. Report mentioned as Hypertension Status + and duration 5-6 times. When he checked I was not near to him. So I kindly request you to explain the seriousness and I would like to know what can I do for him? He is 60 years old. height - 182 cm weight - 83kg Blood Pressure - 175/95mmHg Pulse rate - 75/min

Dear, welcome to hcm, thanks for the question.

I share your concerns. Your father's condition is certainly serious as his blood pressure is very high. In simple sense I would say, take him to a doctor tomorrow morning , you need not rush to emergency department at this time. I hope you understood the level of seriousness. And ECG is also reported abnormal. His weight is also seems to be on higher side. If he has abdominal obesity, it is serious.

You can take him to hospital, advise him to under go required tests, ask him to follow the treatment advised by doctors, ask him to reduce weight, quit smoking and alcohol if any,motivate him to do regular exercises.
