What Causes Aching Pain In The Right Shoulder And Upper Arm?
I have aching pains in my right shoulder and upper arm. It hurts more in the morning and with certain movements. It s not swollen or red. It can feel heavy when I raise up my arm. About 3 months ago I picked up a heavy item and I felt either a rip or a crack in my right arm. Since then, it hasn t been the same.
The shoulder pain you have may be due to muscle strain or ligament sprain because you had lifted heavy weight before some time. And there is nerve stretched also that is why you are feeling heaviness while lifting the hand.
But other causes of shoulder pain are rotator cuff injury due to heavy weight lifting, swimming, strain, tendinopathy, bursitis, arthritis of the shoulder joint, and shoulder spasm. Neck nerve compression also leads the shoulder or arm pain with or without heaviness, numbness, tingling sensation, fractures of the shoulder bones which occur due to fall or over strain.
Rarely the blood clot can cause shoulder pain. Regular injection over shoulder can cause weakness of the shoulder muscles which leads to shoulder pain or tear. To rule out the cause get x-ray or MRI scan.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Ankur
