Dr. Hanif warmly Welcomes you!
Thanks for consulting at my virtual clinic. I have carefully worked through your case, and I can realize your health worries. Being your physician, I assure you not to worry as I will take care all of your medical concerns.
Gastroesophageal Reflux disease causing reflux of the stomach acid and damagung the lining of the food pipe (
esophagus) is the major cause of your symptoms.
You need to start with
Ranitidine and then shift onto
Omeprazole. I also would like to refer you to a Gastroentrologist for the Upper GI
endoscopy to see if the stomach acid have had some serious damging effects on the lining of your food pipe. If any, it may need to be treated according.
If medical treatment fails or if you feel it is no longer working for you, your physician may refer you for surgical correction of the problem via fundoplication. It all depends on the extent of damages done by acid so far. It is not necessarily needed for every patient. Barrettes esophagus is a disease associated with Acidity of stomach and chest pains, which usually needs a surgical correction of the lower end of food pipe.
Also ask your physician if you are on some medications, e.g calcium channel blockers. These kind of drugs aggravate the problem by relaxing the muscles of lower end of esophagus ( the food pipe) allowing more acid to come up towards mouth.
Start gargles with
listerine Mouthwash to avoid seconday infection of the lesions in
palate. Don't take any pain medications as it will worsen the symptoms.
Hope I answered all of your health concerns . If you have further questions in future, feel free to contact me anytime. In the start of your question write my name, and I will get back to you in no time. If satisfied, please click you found it helpful.
Have a wonderful time ahead.
Best Regards!
