4 days ago i went to the hospital and while i was there i got my blood drawn and and i.v. ever since when i smoke cigarettes i get a rash around the blood draw site and bumps that look somewhat like acne around the i.v. site. and ideas of what this could be?
Hello! A rash around the site from where blood was drawn can be due to contact dermatitis produced by either the adhesive tape used after the procedure or as a reaction to the antiseptic used before the procedure. A steroid-antibiotic cream easily available over the counter should sort it out. Do consult a dermatologist if there is no improvement in a couple of days.
