Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I ve had a continuous outbreak since January 2017. The only difference since the outbreaks begun was I switched from Gianvi birth control to Loryna. I took suppressive therapy, but it s no help. I haven t been sexual active in 10 months? What could be causing this?
But let me tell you that Loryna which a combination of Drospirenone and Ethinyl Estradiol, is not responsible for your acne breakout and on the contrary Loryna is also used to treat moderate acne in women who are at least 14 years old and have started having menstrual periods, and who wish to use birth control pills.
As you've already mentioned that you've had acne breakouts in the past also so it is one of your breakouts and Loryna is not being effective in containing it. Wash your face with a soap 3 -4 times daily if you are not already doing it. I will also suggest consulting a dermatologist who will certainly help you better.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Prabhash Verma,
General & Family Physician
