Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi Im Ricardo Losoya and I am 48, my height is 5'5 and my weight is 200 lbs. In the past i had acid reflex, and sinus infection. Recently I've been feeling air bubbles on the left side of my ribs. I also have cramps. Its been going on for almost a week and i wondering what it might be? Could it be the acid reflex that came back?
Hi. Thanks for your query. Noted the history and understood the concerns, Feeling of air bubbles in left side of ribs is not related to GERD or sinus infection. Hence I would advise you to consult your Doctor and to get an X-ray of the chest or CT scan for better to get a proper diagnosis whether related to some fractured rib, rupture of bulla of lung or some puncture wound or even gas producing bacteria causing infection. As also is necessary to get a proper treatment with a PPI like Omeprazole, antacids and domperidone if there is reflux also. Get a proper diagnosis of sinusitis with a CT scan of the sinuses and get a proper management with decongestants, anti-inflammatory medications, topical nasal drops and so on.
