I am a 45 yo female, took last dose of Amoxicillin 875MG(BID x10days) this past Sat eve...Had no reaction at all while taking medication(Never sensitive to PCN in past)...woke up Sunday w/ itchy palms and soles of feet, than started w/ some generalized hives...took 50mg Benadryl last night, felt better...now today I am still having itchy palms & feet...
Hello You took Amoxicillin 875 mg twice in a day for 10 days and last day there develop itching over palm and soles . Now note down the side effects of amoxicillin. Hyperactivity, agitation , exfoliative dermatitis , URTICARIA , hypersensitivity vasculitis , nausea leucopenis , agranulocytosis . Itching over palm and soles of feet were due to delayed and mild reaction ( hypersensitive ) of amoxiccillin. Now you stopped the medicine , so that is good. You took diphenhydramine 50 mg ( benadryl ) , this is also potent antihistamine , take it as necessary . In my opinion this is sufficient for delayed and mild reaction of amoxycillin. Good luck.
