Hi,I am Raju.A.T (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes An Acute Drop In BP Levels, Fatigue, Dizziness And Nausea?
what could be the cause of acute drop in blood pressure - 90/70 P 72, then to 160/94 P62. Feeling fatigue, dizzy, nauseous, rapid shallow breathing, blurred vision, numbness on upper to mid spine, and numbness on tongue. normal BP is 128/76 P78. I believe the initiation may be from being on my feet too long, hot temperature, or prolonged physical activity.
Such fluctuations in blood pressure, alongside other symptoms needs endocrine work up specially thyroid profile as well as urine for catecholamines to rule out pheochromocytoma. Baseline serum electrolytes should be done and preferably endocrinologist review may be helpful. If these are unremarkable sugar levels and cortisol levels may be needed.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further. Wishing you a speedy recovery.
