I am suffering from depression with burning sensation in hands some time in whole body sweating palptation anxiety my age is 63years being treated with fluoxetine 60mg od quetiapine fumerate 25mg bd clonazepam 1mg hs mirtazapine 30mg hs i used to smoke 6/7cigtette and take alcohal 2/3days a month dr hs asked me to quit both?
Yes, it is understandable that your doctor has asked you to quit both.
Alcohol use can worsen depression and any other mental illness and smoking can sometimes be used as a way of dealing with issues in some persons. In addition both alcohol and smoking have negative effects on the body as well.
It can be difficult to quit a habit on your own, if this the case, you would need to enlist the help of a friend or family member or doctor or organisation.
I hope this helps
