Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My sons friend aged 22 has been diagnosed by his GP as having iron deficency anaemia, he also has a long standing heart condition. He says that recently he has been having episodes of left arm numbness where he can not feel the cup in his hand. These episodes last for twenty minutes. His GP states that they are not mini strokes. I was concerned that he was acutally having mini strokes.
Thank you for asking! Paresthesias and numbness is very common in anemias irrespective of the type. Plus age of 22 is too young to have stroke. The doctor is very right. All you need is some good iron supplements and that would be it. take care
